How does it work? 

1. Put the strip at the bottom of the drum or in the drawer.
2. Place your laundry on top of the strip and leave a fist-sized gap between the laundry and the top of the drum.
3. Start your wash cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Stains? Rub a piece of strip with water directly on the stain for extra power
• Not suitable for wool and silk. For that, use Cosmeau Wool & Silk
• Not dissolving completely? Might be due to an overloaded drum or not enough water. Leave a fist-sized gap between your laundry and the top of the drum, or use the detergent drawer. Strips dissolve from 15 degrees
• Not much scent? Wash at a lower temperature, 30-40 degrees, and hang to dry. Rub the laundry after it's dry for a subtle scent. Add scent beads for a stronger fragrance

Ingredients
Polyvinyl alcohol, Sodium dodecyl sulphate, Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate, Kaolin, Trisodium citrate, Alcohols C12-14 ethoxylated, Glycerin, Tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, Glyceryl cocoate, Hexylene glycol, Fragrance, Microcapsule essence, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Camellia japonica flower extract, Mannanase, Amylase, Protease, Cellulase, Lipase. Allergies: Limonene in all scents except Lavender.

Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA)
A water-soluble synthetic polymer that acts as a binder and carrier. Keeps the laundry strip in shape and dissolves during washing. Largely biodegradable*.

Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate (SDS)
A strong anionic surfactant that lifts dirt and grease from fabric fibers. Delivers effective cleaning and foaming. Derived from fatty acids, but synthetically produced. Biodegradable and not harmful to aquatic life at low concentrations.

Aqua
Used as a solvent in the formulation process. Neutral and environmentally friendly.

Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate
A powerful anionic cleaner that tackles stubborn dirt. Creates foam and cleaning power, even in cold water. Highly biodegradable, with low impact on aquatic life.

Kaolin
A natural clay mineral that works as an absorbent filler. Helps structure the laundry strip and supports removing oily stains. Eco-friendly and inert.

Trisodium Citrate
Acts as a water softener and 'builder'. Neutralizes calcium and magnesium in hard water, boosting the power of other cleaning agents. Plant-based and biodegradable.

Alcohols, C12-14, Ethoxylated
Non-ionic surfactant that helps remove grease and oily stains. Works great together with enzymes. Less biodegradable, but not toxic to aquatic life at low concentrations.

Glycerin
A natural moisturizer that keeps the strips from drying out. Also gentle on your skin. Derived from plant oils, fully biodegradable.

Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
An eco-friendly alternative to EDTA. Binds metal ions (like limescale) so surfactants can do their job even better. Biodegradable and safe for aquatic life.

Glyceryl Cocoate
Derived from coconut oil and glycerin. Acts as a skin softener and mild foam booster. Biodegradable and skin-friendly.

Hexylene Glycol
A solvent and fragrance fixative that helps distribute active ingredients and perfume. Moderately biodegradable, low ecotoxicity.

Fragrance
Provides a pleasant fragrance. The exact scent and intensity may vary, but the goal is to make your laundry smell fresher. Biodegradability varies per scent and component.

Microcapsule Essence
Scent capsules that gradually release fragrance during use. Boost the long-lasting scent experience. Biodegradable, Planetcaps.

Dimethicone
A silicone compound that controls foaming and makes fabrics softer. Not biodegradable, but non-toxic in low concentrations.

Phenoxyethanol
A preservative that prevents bacteria and mold growth in the product. Moderately biodegradable, with a slight impact on aquatic environments.

Camellia Japonica Flower Extract
A plant-based extract with caring properties. Added for gentle skin-friendliness. Eco-friendly.

Mannanase
Enzyme that tackles plant-based stains (like mud, grass, veggies). Enzymatically active at low temperatures. Biodegradable.

Amylase
Breaks down starch from stains like pasta, rice, or sauces. Supports deep cleaning. Biodegradable and eco-friendly.

Protease
Enzyme that breaks down protein stains (like blood, dairy, or egg). Significantly boosts cleaning power. Biodegradable.

Lipase
Enzyme that breaks down fats and oily stains. Works powerfully even at low wash temperatures. Biodegradable and gentle on the environment.

Cellulase
An enzyme that cares for cellulose fibers by removing tiny fiber pieces that can cause a dull haze. This keeps colors looking fresh longer and your laundry looking like new. Biodegradable.

Warnings
Like with any detergent, keep out of reach of children. Only use with dry hands. Causes eye irritation. Causes skin irritation. If it gets in your eyes: rinse carefully with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present. Keep rinsing. If eye irritation persists: seek medical advice/help. Wash hands thoroughly after contact.

* The strips themselves depend on the definition of microplastic-free. PVA is approved by ECHA and is not considered a microplastic, but it is by the PlasticSoup Foundation. Some studies show that PVA is biodegradable depending on the brand and type. We have certified biodegradability of PVA based on OECD-B301. Our packaging is plastic-free and FSC certified. We're researching cellulose-based carriers so we can avoid this grey area.
