Research and production in the Netherlands

Van formule tot eindproduct.

We develop our formulas and scents in the Netherlands. A growing share of our production and packaging takes place in Velsen-Noord; that's also where we manage our storage and handle part of the logistics.

Scent development with a higher bar

Our scents are developed by us within the EU. Every raw material is assessed separately; anything that is endocrine-disrupting according to our quality standard doesn't go in.

Our road to our own production

Leren. Testen. Zelf maken.

Our mission is taking shape as we bring more and more knowledge and processes in-house. Not in one leap, but demonstrably step by step.

Uitleg bij een installatie voor het maken van wasstrips

De eerste lokale productiestap

We started with a laundry sheet line of five machines. Too complex as a first production line, but an important learning experience.

Why Cosmeau

Why Cosmeau works differently

De was echt schoon!

Easy to use, and the washing machine doesn't start to smell as quickly because no soap residue is left behind.

Erg goedkoop per wasbeurt

With the largest pack, it works out at around 16 cents per wash. Better for the environment and your wallet.

Prima product

Smells fresh and looks clean. I bought it because I didn't want to keep adding to the mountain of plastic waste.

Nooit meer sjouwen

No more heavy bottles in the house, and the sheets take up almost no space. Ideal for our small utility room.

Frisse was, compact verpakt

The scent is subtle and fresh. What I like most is that the packaging simply fits through the letterbox.

My family's won over

About Cosmeau

Frequently asked questions about who we are and how we work

From our factory and scents to storage and shipping: here's what you'll want to know before choosing Cosmeau.

Where are Cosmeau products developed and made?

We develop our products ourselves and produce a growing share at our own site in Velsen-Noord. For each product, we show as clearly as possible how and where it's made.

Wat gebeurt er op jullie locatie in Velsen-Noord?

That's where we have around 2,000 m² of factory space and a 2,500 m² warehouse. Product development, a growing share of our production, storage and part of our packing and shipping all come together there.

Do you develop the scents yourselves?

Yes. We develop our unique scents ourselves within the EU and choose every raw material according to our own quality standard. There's also a variant without added perfume.

What do you mean by checks at raw material level?

We don't just assess the final scent, but every raw material used, one by one. Substances regarded as endocrine-disrupting under our quality standard are excluded. That's an extra quality choice, not a medical guarantee.

What do you handle yourselves when it comes to storage and shipping?

We manage our stock and storage in Velsen-Noord. We handle part of the packing and shipping ourselves; for the rest of our logistics we work with regular partners in the Netherlands.

Hoe helpt Cosmeau om minder plastic te gebruiken?

Wherever possible, we choose compact formulas, refillable or recyclable solutions and packaging with as little unnecessary material as possible. For each product, we explain the choice we've made.

Can I follow your production and developments?

Gladly. In our blogs and production updates we share new machines, formulas, tests and behind-the-scenes improvements. You can also sign up for our mailings.
