Vluchtige geuren kunnen alleen met veel chemicaliën werkzaam zijn. Onze techniek werkt op basis van wrijving. Wrijf het wasgoed langs elkaar en dan ruik je een subtiele geur. Hogere temperaturen of een droger hebben een negatief effect op de geur. Voor de beste geurervaring was je op 30–40 °C en laat je het aan de lucht drogen.

Once the laundry is dry, rub the fabric together for a subtle scent. You can use 1 or 2 extra sheets to see whether that's the cause. The dosage is based on cleaning power. So for more scent, you can dose a little extra or use scent beads or laundry perfume.

That doesn't mean the laundry sheets aren't working. Other detergents often mask odours rather than tackling them at the source. The scent of laundry sheets is milder because of their low weight. That makes it less able to mask odours that have settled into the washing machine or clothes. Use our deep-cleaning tablets for the washing machine to check whether the machine itself is (still) passing on odours.
Research and production in the Netherlands
We develop our formulas and scents in the Netherlands. A growing share of our production and packaging takes place in Velsen-Noord; that's also where we manage our storage and handle part of the logistics.

Our road to our own production
Our mission is taking shape as we bring more and more knowledge and processes in-house. Not in one leap, but demonstrably step by step.
We started with a laundry sheet line of five machines. Too complex as a first production line, but an important learning experience.
We tested and adapted a twelve-metre scent bead line for production within the EU. After that, the machines came to the Netherlands.
Scent bead production was running at scale in our own factory in Velsen-Noord.
In June the new production hall was ready. We're testing next generations of detergents and continuing to build more knowledge and technology in-house.
It is not only what is in the pack that counts, but also who develops and makes it. With our own R&D and lab in the Netherlands, our own production machines and a growing share of production and packing in Velsen-Noord, we keep that knowledge close. That is how we improve faster and keep quality within reach.
Comparison by brand and business model. Practice may differ per brand and per product. At Cosmeau, own production in the Netherlands applies to a growing share of the range; product pages remain leading for product-specific claims.
We develop formulas and scents with a clear purpose, keep expanding our own production in the Netherlands and use that knowledge to keep quality affordable. Through product donations and other initiatives, we put part of what we build towards people who could use some extra support.

We develop our products ourselves and produce a growing share at our own site in Velsen-Noord. For each product, we show as clearly as possible how and where it's made.
That's where we have around 2,000 m² of factory space and a 2,500 m² warehouse. Product development, a growing share of our production, storage and part of our packing and shipping all come together there.
Yes. We develop our unique scents ourselves within the EU and choose every raw material according to our own quality standard. There's also a variant without added perfume.
We don't just assess the final scent, but every raw material used, one by one. Substances regarded as endocrine-disrupting under our quality standard are excluded. That's an extra quality choice, not a medical guarantee.
We manage our stock and storage in Velsen-Noord. We handle part of the packing and shipping ourselves; for the rest of our logistics we work with regular partners in the Netherlands.
Wherever possible, we choose compact formulas, refillable or recyclable solutions and packaging with as little unnecessary material as possible. For each product, we explain the choice we've made.
