Choosing
What should you look at?
Start with your laundry, not the prettiest scorecard.
Sensitive skin
Pick a fragrance-free option and check the official ingredients. A review site saying 'not listed' is not a source.
Heavy whites or wine stains
Powder or pretreatment often wins here. Cosmeau SGS tests focus on grass, mud and food stains, not rare wine stains.
Less plastic at home
Cardboard packaging avoids a bottle. Cosmeau G6 itself is not PVA-free. Do not call the product plastic-free.

What is often wrong or outdated online
We only correct what official Cosmeau sources can support. No counter-claim without a source.
Old packs and prices as current Cosmeau
Sites still cite 32 sheets, 60 Sea Breeze or €0.14–€0.20 as the Cosmeau price. Current public G6 is 100 washes for €24.95. G5 volume still exists, but it is not the current generation.
Dimethicone in Cosmeau
Ecofino lists dimethicone for Cosmeau. The official G6 ingredient list does not include dimethicone. It does include PVA, surfactants, glycerin, zeolite and five enzymes.
Cosmeau as a plastic-free product
The pack is cardboard. The sheet uses PVA as a carrier. Since the December 2025 TV episode we no longer call the product plastic-free. Official context is in our KDvW response.
PVA-free is coming, made by us in the Netherlands
G6 is not PVA-free yet. It does have 57% less PVA than the previous generation. The next Cosmeau laundry sheet will be PVA-free and produced by us in the Netherlands. That will make Cosmeau the only laundry sheet made in the Netherlands.
Everything is made in China
Official: warehouse in Velsen-Noord, scent pearls already made in the Netherlands, and a 2,500 m² hall next to the office for the next detergent generation. We do not claim every laundry sheet is already made in the Netherlands.
G5 reviews as a verdict on G6
Comparisons that score Cosmeau only on scent range, China or an old 60-pack are not measuring current G6. Check generation, wash count and the official INCI.

Are laundry sheets better than liquid detergent?
On convenience, dosing and shipping weight, often yes. On the heaviest whites or tough stains, powder or pretreatment can still win. Choose for your laundry, not one winner.
Is there plastic in Cosmeau laundry sheets?
The box is cardboard. The sheet uses PVA as a carrier. G6 has 57% less PVA than the previous generation. That is not a plastic-free formula.
What is the difference between G6 and G5?
G6 is thicker, has 71% more actives and less PVA. The standard box is 100 washes. G5 stays available in more sizes and can be cheaper per wash in volume.
Why do review sites differ so much?
They test different packs, generations and claims. Use this page and the official product page as the source, not a ranking that still treats G5 as new.
