What makes our scent pearls different
A beautiful scent starts not only with what you smell, but also with what you consciously leave out.
Our unique fragrance compositions are developed with specialized fragrance suppliers within the EU. They formulate for the European market and according to the applicable European rules.
In addition, we have our own, stricter supplier briefing: at ingredient level we do not accept raw materials with a GHS08 classification. In addition, we exclude ingredients that are classified as hormone disruptive within our internal safety assessment.
Because we produce ourselves in Velsen-Noord, we can directly control origin, recipe and quality control, from perfumer to refill bag.

Ik was al ruim anderhalf jaar met de wasstrips van Cosmeau. Het is gewoon echt waar: geen gesleep met zware dozen waspoeder of met plastic flessen! Scheelt natuurlijk ook een hoop karton en plastic. 💚
Hoewel de was met hun ‘sheets’ al lekker ruikt, geven de geurparels nog extra geur. Super makkelijk te doseren. Met een dopje van een gebruikte (m'n laatste, whoehahaha!) fles wasmiddel. Maar een eierdop ofzo kan natuurlijk ook!
TIP: ik gebruik de geurparels ook in de stofzuigerzak!
Wat is enorm waardeer aan Cosmeau is hun openheid, dat het in NL wordt geproduceerd, ze zo schoon mogelijk produceren en zich blijven inzetten voor verbetering op alle gebied.

We gebruiken nu al ruim een jaar deze wasmiddel en af en toe met de geurparels. Beide bevallen heel goed, super handig in gebruik. Geen gesop met vloeibaar of poeder. Ook ideaal meenemen op reis. Neemt weinig ruimte in en geen risico dat het los gaat en alles onder de wasmiddel zit.

How do I use scent pearls?
Sprinkle the desired amount at the back of the empty drum before you add the laundry. Then add your regular detergent and choose the programme on the textile label.
How many scent pearls do I use per wash?
Start with a small dose and increase only if you want more scent. The right amount depends on drum size, textile and how strong you want the scent. Always follow the dose on the current label.
How many washes do I get from one refill?
A 250 gram refill is good for about 25 to 50 washes. A lighter dose stretches further than a stronger scent preference.
How long does the scent stay noticeable?
Depending on textile, dose, drying and storage, freshness can stay noticeable for up to 12 weeks. Folded laundry in a closed cupboard usually keeps scent longer than clothes worn daily or hung outside.
Can scent pearls go in the dryer?
Put scent pearls only in the washing machine, never loose in the dryer. Washed textiles can then go in the dryer if the care label allows it. The scent can stay noticeable after drying too.
Do they work at low temperatures?
Yes. The scent pearls are made for normal wash programmes and different temperatures. Do not overdose, and for a very short or cold cycle choose enough water and drum movement.
Do they go in the drawer or in the drum?
Always directly at the back of the empty drum, before the laundry. Do not put them in the detergent or softener compartment.
Do the scent pearls dissolve completely?
With the right dose and a normal programme they dissolve during the wash. If you still see residue, lower the dose, do not overload the drum and choose a programme with enough water and time.
Can I combine them with detergent or laundry sheets?
Yes. Scent pearls add scent and do not replace detergent. Use them next to your regular detergent or Cosmeau laundry sheets for cleaning.
Do I still need fabric softener?
No. For scent you do not need fabric softener. If you still want softener, follow both product instructions and the care label.
Are they suitable for every textile?
Use them on machine-washable textiles and always follow the care label. Be extra careful with wool, silk, technical fabrics or very delicate materials and test a small dose first if you are unsure.
Are scent pearls suitable for sensitive skin or allergies?
This is a fragranced product and allergens can differ by scent. Always check the current label, dose lightly and stop if irritation occurs. If you have a known fragrance allergy, seek medical advice first.
Are Cosmeau scent pearls microplastic-free?
Yes, our formula is microplastic-free. Check the current label for full ingredients and safety information.
Do other scent boosters contain PEG or synthetic polymers?
Formulas differ by brand. Some alternatives use synthetic water-soluble polymer carriers, including PEG. A synthetic polymer is not automatically the same as microplastic in legal terms. Our own claim stays clear: the Cosmeau formula is microplastic-free.
Are the scent pearls vegan and not tested on animals?
The scent pearls are vegan. For the latest product and certification details, check the label or ask our customer service.
Where are the scent pearls made?
They are produced in the Netherlands, in our factory in Velsen-Noord. That keeps product development and quality control close to home.
Why do you use refill pouches instead of a new tube every time?
A flat refill pouch takes less space than a rigid tube, so we ship less empty air and need less heavy cardboard to protect the pack. The exact environmental impact still depends on the order, use and transport.
How do the storage tins work?
Choose “With storage tins” and you get one matching loose tin for every selected scent. After that you can keep using the same tin and only order compact refills.
What happens to the tins on a subscription?
All chosen scent-pearl refills go into the subscription. The tins are added only to the first order as one-off extras and do not return automatically.
Can I pause, change or stop the subscription?
Yes. You can change the delivery interval, pause or stop under the subscription terms. Do this in your account or with help from our customer service.
Which delivery interval can I choose?
The available intervals come straight from Shopify and Juo. The page suggests a logical interval based on your chosen stock. You can change it before you order.
How do I store opened refills?
Keep the pouch closed, cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. A storage tin helps keep each scent neatly separate.
Are scent pearls safe around children and pets?
The product is not meant to be eaten or used as a toy. Always keep the pearls and refills closed and out of reach of children and pets, and follow the safety information on the label.
Can scent pearls damage my washing machine?
Used as labelled and put directly in the empty drum, they are intended for normal washing machines. Do not overdose and maintain your machine regularly.
Can I mix several scents in one order?
Yes. Choose several scents and split your stock with the plus and minus buttons. The “You receive” summary shows exactly how many refills and tins you get.
Can I set the scent strength myself?
Yes. Start light and add more on a later wash if you want a stronger scent. That way you only use what fits your preference and laundry.

Eerste generatie: minder verpakkingsplastic
Onze eerste variant op PEG-basis was een bewuste tussenstap: nog niet ons eindpunt, wél al minder verpakkingsplastic dan traditionele geurboosters in grote plastic flessen.
Investeren in onze eigen productielijn
Machines, testen en proceskennis brachten de productie stap voor stap naar Velsen-Noord. Niet de snelste route, wel de route waarmee we zelf grip krijgen op formule, kwaliteit en verbetering.
