Big plastic bottles of liquid detergent quickly take up all the space in your laundry room. Plus, those heavy bottles and boxes mean a lot of transport, so washing your clothes this way isn’t exactly eco-friendly. But there’s a better way—with laundry detergent sheets! It’s the detergent you know, just in paper form.

But how do you get the best results when washing with these strips?
Washing with a washing machine
It might look totally different from what you're used to—a sheet instead of a cap full of liquid—but honestly, it works just the same.
You want to put half or a whole sheet of the laundry strip in the drum on your clothes, or in the detergent drawer. Half a sheet is enough for a small load (5kg). Got more laundry (10kg), is it really dirty, or do you have hard water? Then go for a whole sheet. The strip has a handy tear line in the middle, so you can easily split it in half.
During washing, the strip will completely dissolve in the water and clean your laundry just like you're used to!
What should you look out for?
- Make sure your drum isn’t too full, so the laundry strip has enough space to dissolve properly.
- Don't put the strip between your clothes to keep it from getting stuck anywhere.
- Don't leave your laundry wet for too long, so it stays smelling fresh
- There’s no chlorine bleach in the strips, so keep that in mind when doing your whites.
Hand wash
You might not think it at first, but the laundry strips are also perfect for handwashing! Just fill your bucket or sink with warm water, toss in half a laundry strip, and watch it dissolve. Give the water a quick stir so the detergent spreads evenly, then wash your clothes like you normally do.
