😮💨 Grease slime in the washing machine: How do I get rid of it?
Grease slime in the washing machine, or washing slime, is a buildup of soap residues, skin flakes, and fats in your washing machine. This can cause bad odors and stains on your laundry. In this blog, you will learn what grease slime is, how it forms, and most importantly, how to effectively get rid of it so your laundry smells fresh and is clean again.
⚙️ Production Update
🧪 We have coated the floor of our new laboratory space! It looks neat again. After our move, we had no access to a lab. Next month we will install a water line, set up drainage, and further equip the lab. We use the lab to test formulas on a small scale. Ben and Jason will spend a weekend painting to tidy up the walls. Keeping an eye on the budget 😆
⚙️ The machines have arrived as mentioned in our previous blog post. We requested three quotes to connect the machines and are still waiting for one more. For large amounts and projects, it’s always smart to get price quotes from multiple parties. This can save a lot! Unfortunately, one machine requires a 63 amp connection. That is a cable as thick as a cucumber and expensive to install. Connecting the machines, building the distribution board, running cables, etc., will cost around €10,000. Now you know where your contribution is going!
⚡️ Luckily, we don’t have a problem with insufficient power. As you know, the electricity grid in the Netherlands is overloaded. We moved to our current location in November because we have a 3x250 amp supply here. That’s large; at home, you often have a 3x25 amp connection. The location also had to be at least in environmental category 4.2 to produce our products. Environmental category 6 is an oil refinery, while a bike repair shop falls into 1.
🐸 During our search, we reviewed a lot of documentation that municipalities share about zoning plans and environmental categories. Surprisingly, this was quite interesting and also covers the preservation and protection of the habitats of animals living there such as frogs, fish, moles, hedgehogs, etc. It goes so far as to name very specific species.
We can be quite proud that so many people work at every municipality to map this out and protect the animals!
So this month small progress, but we are moving forward steadily.
