On Sunday 30 March, Cosmeau officially opened its first physical store in the heart of Haarlem, located at Grote Houtstraat 47 opposite Kruidvat and next to JD. Cosmeau, known for its eco-friendly household products and sustainable cosmetics, is the first sustainable concept on a prominent A1 location.
The doors opened at 12:00 pm with over fifty enthusiastic customers already queuing, including visitors from Alkmaar, Sliedrecht and Alphen aan den Rijn. The first visitor was even ready at 11 am to not miss a thing of the opening. The first 100 customers received a well-filled goodie bag.
"Over the past months, we have taken everyone along on this journey by sharing the entire process online," said Jason Wen, founder and CEO of Cosmeau. "It's fantastic that so many people from across the country came to celebrate the opening with us. I am extremely proud of our team for organising this so wonderfully."
The new store has an open, bright and fresh look with an interior designed to let visitors experience products by smelling, touching and testing. "We deliberately chose light colours and soft pastel tones, making our colourful products stand out even more."
Sustainability was also considered in the interior: the store uses recycled linoleum on floors, mats and product islands.
Cosmeau stands for innovative, sustainable quality products at affordable prices. "With this physical store, we want to personally advise customers and introduce them to new sustainable alternatives such as laundry sheets, scent pearls and cleaning tablets," said Wen.
Within Cosmeau, a special Bamboozy shop-in-shop has also been created, focused on sustainable menstrual products with the mission to break taboos around menstruation. "This is the first physical location where Bamboozy products can be viewed and tested. We want to inform young and old about sustainable alternatives so they can make conscious choices."
Cosmeau's bigger mission is to realise local production in the Netherlands and create social impact. "We are one of the few brands actively investing in our own production. Our shampoo bars and conditioners are already produced in our own factory, and this year we will likely start with scent pearls. We aim to produce all our products in the Netherlands within five years. Additionally, we want to strengthen our social role by actively collaborating with food banks, first locally and then nationally."
Cosmeau warmly welcomes everyone to visit the new store, receive personal advice and experience the products extensively.
